Dark Sky narrows the decision to what a Garmin watch can compute reliably from time and position: when the night becomes astronomically dark, where the moon will be, and which segment of the night is actually worth stepping outside for.

No. Calculations run locally on the watch from time and position.

Astronomical night and moon timing depend on your latitude and longitude. The permission is used only for those calculations; nothing leaves the watch.

Yes. A date picker lets you step forward or back to inspect another night.

The Connect IQ Store listing for each app shows the current list of supported devices. As a guide, the apps run on most modern Garmin wearables — including the fenix 7 and 8 series, Forerunner 165/255/265/955/965/970, Venu 2/3, epix Pro, Instinct 3 AMOLED, and several Approach and Descent models.

Open the Garmin Connect IQ Store on the web or inside the Garmin Connect mobile app, find the app by name, and install it to your paired watch. The watch will sync it on the next connection.
